Quick Guide
Set in the Tuscan hills, Mugello is owned by Ferrari and boasts some of the finest corners on the calendar. In particular, the challenges of Arrabbiata 1 and 2 are unique. The circuit is set in a valley just north of Florence and the support for Rossi at the track is never anything short of fervent, bordering on the insane. Mugello inevitably features duelling down the start/finish straight before the massive braking effort to make it around San Donato. Races are won and lost in that braking zone, despite it being almost a lap away from the finish line. A great deal of harsh treatment is dealt out to the right side of the tyre here, so tyre management is crucial.
The circuit website is one of the better ones available on the web, and includes some old footage from Dorna of a 990cc bike lapping the track. Open up the Google Map and follow the lap - you’ll feel like you’re on the track.
