Given the strong showing of the Suzukis in Misano, you have to wonder at the wisdom of Hopkins moving to the Kawasaki team. No doubt they convinced him with details of their technical prowess, their plans for the bike and the team (and a large amount of cash). If his motivation is winning the World Championship, based on the performance in Misano - which is statistically unsound of course - Suzuki seem to be further down the road to victories.
Do Kawasaki need a strong development rider? Yes, Ant West is new to the game and Hopper is now something of an old, experienced head. Is Hopper the rider they need? Perhaps not.
